Outreach activities during the pandemic

In order to overcome connectivity constraints, continue fostering the submission mechanism in the regions of Colombia during the COVID-19 pandemic and in response to requests from civil society, the Secretariat has organized hybrid events with community leaders in Quibdó (Chocó), women leaders, victims of the conflict and college students who deal with environmental issues. Participants have met in small groups in open and ventilated spaces, complying with health and safety protocols. The presentations have been given virtually by the Executive Director, with local logistical support.

To enter the events, body temperature is taken using infrared thermometers and recorded, along with the answers to the questions about health conditions and risk of COVID-19. Further, before starting the presentation, a talk is given on the measures to be fulfilled with under the health and safety protocol, including social distancing, hand washing, cleaning and disinfection, among others. Likewise, bio-products have been supplied such as face masks, antibacterial gel, alcohol spray, and sanitizer mats to disinfect and dry the shoes at the entrance.

Complying with the regulations and measures aimed at preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Secretariat seeks to continue with the outreach activities under the New Normal.
