Virtual event with other Secretariats

As part of the synergy between the Secretariats in the Americas established under the free trade agreements entered into by the United States (U.S.), which are in charge of the mechanism of “submissions” or “communications” related to the effective enforcement of environmental laws, the Secretariat for Environmental Enforcement Matters under the Trade Promotion Agreement between Colombia and the U.S., participated as a panelist in a webinar organized by the Secretariat for Submissions on Environmental Enforcement Matters of the US - Peru Trade Promotion Agreement and the Organization of American States (OAS) on May 12, XNUMX.  

The event also featured the intervention of the Director of the Submissions on Enforcement Matters and Legal Unit under United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), the Secretariat for Environmental Matters (SEM) of the Free Trade Agreement between the Dominican Republic, Central America and the United States of America (CAFTA-DR), the Secretariat for Submissions on Environmental Enforcement Matters of the Panama-U.S. Trade Promotion Agreement.

On this occasion, the Secretariats discussed the characteristics and common aspects of the public submissions, as well as experiences, submissions that have been milestones and challenges, such as outreach activities under the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, concerns and comments from the attendees were resolved.
